The Business Incubation Management Training Program was developed in direct response to repeated requests from infoDev’s innovation and entrepreneurship community for a comprehensive training program tailored to the needs of developing and emerging economies.

This first-of-its-kind program drew on lessons, models, and case studies from business incubators across Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa, and South Asia.

Over 30 global business incubation experts contributed directly to the creation of the training modules. The materials were field-tested with more than 300 professionals in developing and emerging countries, whose feedback was used to refine the final design.

By 2013, the program had successfully trained over 900 business incubator managers and stakeholders. Feedback was consistently positive, and demand for further training remained high.

As part of the infoDev team, I contributed to the program’s development and served as a lead trainer in several Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions. I also helped test and deliver the training in countries including Brazil, India, Romania, South Africa, and Turkey.

infoDev was a program of the World Bank Group, supporting high-growth entrepreneurs in developing economies. It was housed within the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the World Bank Group’s Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice.
